About Christian

Graphic designer.
Art director. Contemporary artist.

For more than three decades, I’ve explored how visual communication can foster connection, clarity, and positive change through design, photography, and a wide-ranging artistic practice.

Across every medium, my work is guided by one enduring question: How can visual storytelling help people see more clearly, connect more deeply, and find meaning?

Shaped by experience

My work has always been about paying attention.

As a designer, that means finding clarity within complexity. As a photographer, it means noticing the quiet details that often go unseen. As an artist, it means exploring ideas that cannot always be expressed through words or commercial briefs.

Different mediums. One way of seeing.

Design

I'm a graphic designer, art director, photographer, and artist whose practice has evolved over decades of helping organizations communicate with clarity, consistency, and purpose.

Part of a man with gray hair, a beard, and wearing headphones is in the foreground. The background shows a modern, spacious indoor area with large glass windows, stairs, and several people sitting and working at tables.

I work with start-ups, medium to large organizations, academic institutions, and not-for-profits that value thoughtful design, strong brand systems, and clear communication—helping them build, evolve, and strengthen their brands, especially during periods of change.

My work focuses on transforming complex ideas into accessible visual narratives, building brands that are authentic and coherent across platforms, and providing creative direction and oversight that supports long-term impact rather than short-term noise.

As organizations adopt new technologies, including AI, I help teams maintain the qualities that technology cannot replace: thoughtful judgment, visual consistency, and a deep understanding of audience and purpose.

My art practice is a natural extension of my work as a designer. Through crosshatch, layers, and the DesignArt series, I continue exploring ideas of structure, memory, rhythm, and visual language. The freedom to experiment through art continually deepens how I approach communication, composition, and creative direction for clients.

Whether I'm designing a visual identity, art-directing a publication, photographing a quiet moment, or creating a new composition, I'm ultimately pursuing the same goal of supporting connection, clarity, thoughtfulness, and positive change, with good design.
