An Kosurko is a communications specialist with a flair for the narrative in capturing stories for diverse organizations. She brings with her a unique understanding of the multi-faceted nature of organizational sustainability and an extensive background in marketing communications, arts administration, and video production. She excels in collaborative environments that demand adaptability in planning, implementation, and dissemination of knowledge, values, and voices.

A Research Associate with the Trent Centre for Aging & Society, An has most recently enjoyed assisting with the data collection and dissemination on a CIHR-funded study “Improving social inclusion for Canadians with dementia and their carers through Sharing Dance” investigating the expansion of the Sharing Dance Seniors program developed by Baycrest Health and Canada’s National Ballet School. She has led projects such as the documentary production of The Mount, a story about a group of volunteers who transformed an abandoned convent into an affordable housing facility and a centre for food security. She has taught courses on Environment & Communication for the School of the Environment, Rural Community Sustainability, and Market and Managerial Research for the School of Business at Trent University. A volunteer in her community, she has helped with communications and strategy in her various roles on boards such as B!KE, Peterborough’s Community Bike Shop, the ReFrame Film Festival, and in support of local organizations like Random Acts of Green.

Strategic Communications frame the broader picture while guiding the execution of the daily details – enabling smooth internal operations — getting the messages out – connecting back to mission, vision, values, and objectives.

CURRENT RESEARCH PROJECT:

Exploring everyday spontaneity to support caring relationships

Kosurko, A. (Principal Investigator), Horgan, M. (Surpervisor) (2025-2027). Mitacs, Musagetes Foundation Elevate Postdoctoral Fellowship Grant

This arts-based project brings together artists, researchers, and people in caring relationships who live with dementia. We seek deeper understanding of our moment-to-moment interactions in the arts and with assistive technologies and how we adapt to change with each other socially.

Our work is supported by the Musagetes Foundation and hosted by the International Institute for Critical Studies in Improvisation and the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Guelph.

“Running the trails keeps me sharp and connected to nature. You never know when a branch might hit you in the face. Keep your head up, but be mindful of roots and rocks. Stay focussed and live in the moment.”

Let’s work together.
